Although Spang Thompson, a wolf hunter, built the Hole in the Wall cabin, many others used it. When Al Smith ran cattle in the Hole in the Wall he used it, and the Hole in the Wall gang used it in between robbery stints with Butch Cassidy, et. all. Later Amelia Stubbs Richardson used the cabin to homestead. She married Charles Austin, her second marriage
