Dr. Blake's home on South Main St.
Dr. Blake came to Buffalo early in the 1900s. He was an
established doctor in the town. He was married about 20 years without
children. Then they had two children, Beverly and Jimmy. They then
needed more room. I do not know if he had originally built the house or
bought it. At that time what was called airplane houses were the style.
On his bungalow he built a structure, containing bed rooms, which rose
in the center of the house leaving a protrusion on each side similar to
an airplanes wings. Built 1910, square, 1 1/2 story house, concrete
foundation, clapboard, gable roof, 3 bay front porch under 2nd story
gable and shed porch roof, 2nd floor gable added later.
